Lesboinfo.com wants your opinion because your opinion matters! There was a time not so long ago, when being a lesbian or gay was a tight-lipped secret. For some it still is. Gay and lesbian celebrities have impacted the nation by coming out. The media has focused on many aspects and issues of lesbian and gay lifestyles. The nation will continue to struggle through issues of accepting gay marriage and adoption. The movement towards equal rights for everyone is well on its way. Along with all of that, television has made great strides in producing shows such as the LWord, Queer as folk, and many others, which has provided wonderful exposure of our lifestyle to others whom are not familiar with it. Even the soap opera industry has boarded this movement by featuring characters that are gay, lesbian, and even transgendered. So, what the heck does this have to do with Lesbianinfo.com? Well, I will tell you, strength and change happens in numbers. We have the numbers, no doubt, and many organizations have surfaced to let the nation know, we are OUT, and we are
OUT PROUD!!!!
No more are the days, where you had to sneak into a club with no name on the building through the back door. Whether you are OUT, OUT, or still have aspects of your lives that you keep private from your coworkers, family, and friends, you still support the cause.

What is the cause? Simply being able to be who you are and feel free to be who you are without discrimination because of your lifestyle. Lesbianinfo.com was borne out of wanting to continue to forward the great strides that lesbians and gays have already made in gaining that acceptance by acting as a resource for Lesbian information on a local level. Primarily it will focus on the local activities, bars, groups, and happenings in the Central Florida area, with a future aspiration of expansion for other states and their locales. There are not many up to date lesbian resources out on the Internet. Most of the Internet research I have found results in Gay websites that throw in information for the lesbian community. While those sites are useful, and I am grateful that they are there (otherwise there would be nothing), you may find you have to wade through the non-lesbian information before finding the lesbian information that you seek. There are great magazines, such as SHE that focus on the lesbian community, but my thought in initiating this site is what about the local happenings? How about one central place to find out about local events or to get to all those organizations, groups, bands, artists, and other websites?
The result is what will become known as Lesboinfo.com. Hopefully, with your input, we can narrow our locales down to provide some information about the local lesbian scene. Part of this project, will consist of voluntary, anonymous surveys, which will hopefully gather information and answer questions in order to assist in bringing each local community together as one. The community is out there, but what does the community want? We have a gay community center, how many people utilize it? What does it do, what benefits does it actually provide in bringing the lesbian community closer?
